For high school, GradPoint is a teacher-assisted computer-based learning management system that delivers courses built from instructional design best practices that incorporates video, interactive activities, immediate feedback, and assessments to ensure mastery and authentic work.

What is prescriptive learning? These courses require students to begin each full-length course with a pre-test to check for mastery of each objective in that module, and then move the student through the lessons in a prescribed format based on pre-test results.

Prescriptive courses are ideal for credit recovery, dropout prevention, summer school, accelerated remediation, and alternative education implementations. The pre-test is designed to give the student credit for objectives that he/she already knows. Students may be able to skip certain parts of the lesson based on the pre-test results. Therefore, students should make every effort to do his/her best.

No, students will not be able to move freely through modules unless it is an elective course. A student must score a 70% or higher on a module test before being allowed to move to the next module. Can a student work on GradPoint at home? Yes, students are required to work on GradPoint at home on the lesson and quizzes. However, they have to come on campus to take any pre- or post-test.
